Pink Promotions in the Fight against Breast Cancer
Breast cancer prevention saves lives, but it is still essential to spread awareness. That’s why CeramTec is dedicating today to support the global awareness campaign at its international locations with the company-wide Pink Ribbon Day for a fourth year running. With “pink” employee activities and events, October 18th represents the symbolic pink ribbon and gets people talking about the disease. CeramTec will also donate 2,000 euros to the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg as well as 500 euros to Pink Ribbon Germany.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer in women. In Germany, around 70,000 people contract the disease every year (around one percent of which are men). The earlier a tumor is discovered, the better the chances of recovery. As a result, making people aware of prevention measures is, alongside research, one of the best ways of fighting cancer. That’s why CeramTec is making the Pink Ribbon campaign as visible as possible: all over the world, employees make the company pink for a day with clothes, decorations, food and drinks – there are no limits on the creativity, as can be seen in the photos from the various activities on our website. The advanced ceramic manufacturer also distributes pink ribbons, free informational material and pink massage balls to staff to boost the campaign and raise additional awareness. And because science and awareness go hand in hand in the fight against breast cancer, CeramTec is supporting both the campaign of the Pink Ribbon Germany initiative with 500 euros as well as the fundamental work of the German Cancer Research Center with a donation of 2,000 euros.
