CeramTec Headquarters for the first time at "Night of training" at the event
Which profession interests me? Is an apprenticeship the right thing for me? And which companies in the area do I like? The answers to these and similar questions were given to students from the Esslingen district on October 10, 2019, at the "Night of Training".
Under the motto "Your look behind the scenes", the Wirtschaftsjunioren Esslingen, a network of young entrepreneurs, self-employed people and managers, had initiated the information event for young people, which combines the concept of a training fair with a shuttle party. From the central event location, the Esslingen-Zell School Center, almost 50 companies and businesses were taken on five different routes in the style of a "hop on, hop off" city tour by bus. In addition to printing and publishing houses, insurance companies and hospitals, a waste disposal company and even the police, CeramTec's ceramic experts also opened their doors in Plochingen.
CeramTec Human Resources had put together a varied program with the active support of industrial and commercial trainees and interns. The guests were welcomed with a delicious welcome cocktail (alcohol-free, of course) and were able to gain an insight into the "fascination of high-performance ceramics": at the product exhibition, more than one of the young visitors was surprised to find that he comes into contact with ceramics on a daily basis without even knowing it - whether washing his hands in the form of the integrated sealing and regulating discs in the faucet or in his smartphone, where ceramic components ensure smooth functioning. The trainees provided first-hand information about the professions they were training for and about their everyday work to their counterparts, many of whom were of the same age; an opportunity that they were happy to take advantage of without hesitation. The guests could also experience a CNC machine in action or get valuable tips for their own application and the complete application process while enjoying drinks and snacks under the keyword "Speed Dating - from application folder check to job interview". The highlight for many was certainly the exit game "Fit for the Office in 20 minutes", where you could prove your ability to combine. "This year we participated in the "Night of Training" for the first time, and with more than 80 visitors we are absolutely satisfied! We might see the odd visitor again," says Vanessa Bierbrauer, Head of Commercial Training at CeramTec.
